Filip Smolík works in the areas of psycholinguistics and first language acquisition, his research focuses among other things on language comprehension in toddlers and the processing of inflected word forms in adults.

Lab manager

The lab manager takes care of the daily business in the lab, he schedules the time for experiments, provides instructions for the student examiners, and is the main contact person.

FD is a doctoral student at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics and an undergraduate student at the Faculty of Arts (psychology). He studies visual attention and the models of eye movements.

Cyril Brom heads the group Artifical Minds and Intelligent Systems at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics and studies various topics in artificial intelligence, cognitive modeling, computational ethology, and the teaching effects of educational simulations.

Mgr. Eva Lehečková, Ph.D. (Faculty of Arts, Charles University)

Eva Lehečková is the director of the Institute of Czech Language and the Theory of Communication at the Faculty of Arts of the Charles University. Her scholarly focus is on the semantics and morphosyntax of Czech, including for example the typology of scalar adjectives, the aspect, and the function words.

Jiří Lukavský does research on visual perception, attention, and memory. His current projects include research on eye movements during tasks that require divided attention, and the study of the relationship between perception and action planning.

Luděk Stehlík studies various questions about cognitive training and its connectionist modeling. He works towards a biologically plausible computational model of cognitive mechanisms engaged in planning and problem solving.

Eva Filippová is a resarch scientist at the Institute of Czech Language and the Theory of Communication at the Faculty of Arts of the Charles University. Her research focuses on social cognition, especially its cultural and developmental aspects. Specifically, she studies the cognitive prerequisites of figurative language interpretation, and the comprehension of the pragmatics of irony in discourse.
